Threadlift

An absorbable mesh that provides structure to your skin

Skin ageing is a natural and unavoidable process, which is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Thanks to the dissolvable threads used at the Dray clinic, you can once again see a naturally lifted face, without the need for surgery or general anaesthesia. Dr Dray earned his reputation on the other side of the Atlantic particularly from spectacular results he achieved using tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) on the great American stars.

What are tightening threads used for?
Threadlift technology (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) is a non-surgical technique used to lift the face and body. The aim is to reposition drooping areas of the face, neck or some parts of the body, by inserting dissolvable threads underneath the skin to achieve a lifting effect. The tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) are made of PDO (Polydioxanone), a highly safe material used in cardiac surgery, which acts by encouraging the cohesion of cells. The threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) are dissolvable stitches, re-absorbed in about 6 to 8 months. There are various types of threads (basic, screw, cog, barbed, notched, cone, double needle). The tightening effect and the durability of the treatment depend on the type and size of the thread.

Tightening threads: for better skin elasticity and the reduction of wrinkles.
The insertion of tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) in our Paris and London clinics causes an inflammatory reaction in the tissue and stimulates the production of collagen, the acceleration of microcirculation and the regeneration of cells, as well as providing mechanical support to the skin. The cutaneous tissues of the face and neck – but also the body, such as the arms, the inner thighs, and the stomach – are stimulated, restructured and smoothed. You will notice an improvement both in wrinkles and the elasticity, radiance and luminosity of the skin, as well as a tightening effect.

Rapidly visible effects on the elasticity of the face
Tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) are implanted in the deep dermis using needles of different thickness and length (according the zone being treated). The effects of tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) can be seen immediately but the maximal tension is achieved after about two months. The recovery period and time it takes to return to normal activity are quick. The number of threads varies according to the individual patient. A complete treatment of the face and neck can require between 40 and 60 threads. Immediately after treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) you can begin to see a tightening effect.  A week after you will notice a great improvement in the skin as a result of collagen production. The desired effect is achieved after a month. The threads are reabsorbed but their effects can last for a long time: up to several years. It is possible to add more tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) two months after the first treatment. Treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) does not cause any allergic reactions or rejection.

How is a session of treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) carried out?
A session of skin treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) takes about 20 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Each session of treatment with tightening threads starts with a detailed diagnostic examination of the skin and the areas to be treated by the doctor. Once the diagnosis has been established, the treatment defined and consent received from the patient, the doctor’s assistant starts by cleaning the skin with an antiseptic wash and then applies an anaesthetic cream in order to make the treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) painless.

In our London clinic, treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) is carried out by a specialised doctor. The type of tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) will be chosen according to the needs of the patient, and the desired effects, in order to achieve an optimal result. At the end of the treatment with tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) the assistant systematically applies a soothing hyaluronic acid mask. The recovery period is simple, sometime a few bruises appear but they disappear within a week.

Good to know
You can combine a treatment using tightening threads (PDO, Silhouette soft, Croma) with an Ultralift (Focused ultrasound treatment known as Ultherapy, Ulthera) treatment beforehand for an optimal result.
